Databases and corpora

ASLAN researchers have concretized some aspects of their research by creating very diverse databases and corpora:

  CLAPI : Spoken Language and Interaction Corpus Database

  DiaDM : Diachronic database

  DIINAR : Computerized Dictionary of ARabe

  Les poissons du Gabon : Gabon Fish Database

  LAPSyD : Phonological database

  VISA : Database of Teaching and Learning Situation Videos

Softwares

In order to respond to their scientific problems, researchers develop and participate in the development of software within the framework of their projects.
This is how software has come into being within ICAR or the DDL, such as :
  ROCme : Audio corpus recording software

  TransICOR is a transcription software derived from the Transcriber software and adapted to the ICOR transcription agreement.

  Tatiana : Software for human interaction analysis (developed by Gregory Dyke during his thesis co-directed by Kristine Lund (ICAR) and Jean-Jacques Girardot (École des Mines de Saint-Étienne))

  Transana is a software for transcription and analysis of multimedia corpuses. The ICAR laboratory is contributing to the development of an Arabic version.

  TXM : Multi-platform open-source software for the analysis of large text corpora

The laboratories also have offline software (for more information please contact us):

ALFA   Database of Gabon's Fang talks. This product presents the user with both the traditional dialectological data and the (digitized) sound form associated with the lexical entries.

Resource websites

The laboratories have created websites as a result of their research. These sites can be aimed at various audiences:
  • Researchers and students in Language Sciences (from interaction to didactics) such as the CORINTE or CorVis sites;
  • Education specialists such as Pegasus and Pegam;
  • or a non-specialist audience (objective of the textometry site).
  CORINTE is a site dedicated to research on the corpus of spoken language in interaction. It works in correlation with the database CLAPI (Corpus de Langue Parlée en Interaction) equipped with. It presents interaction linguistics, based on the recording, transcription and processing of multimodal interactive oral data.
  CLAPI-FLE is a free online platform dedicated to the teaching of spoken French in interaction, intended for a public of teacher trainers, teachers and learners of French as a Foreign Language and French Linguistics. Based on CLAPI's oral corpuses and research work in interaction, it offers a set of resources including some forty extracts from oral corpuses described, taught, transcribed with interactional analyses adapted to a teaching audience and explanatory sheets on language functions identified as problematic to teach.
  The CorVis "Corpus de Vidéo Situées" project website gathers useful information for the production and processing of videos documenting social practices in their situated context. It also identifies different uses of video at the national and international level in the SHS community.
  Odyssee website presents the results, events, publications, etc. of the project of the same name. Odyssee aims to better understand and characterize the role of the articulatory system in speech perception processes through behavioral and magnetoencephalographic studies.
  ELSE : reflection on training and innovation of Education in Second and Foreign Languages
  IMPEC : Interactions Multimodales Par ECran - Multimodal Interactions per screen
  ISMAEL : InteractionS et Multimodalité dans l’Apprentissage et l’Enseignement d’une Langue - Interaction and Multimodality in Language Learning and Teaching
  Pegase is intended for teachers and trainers involved in the secondary teaching of physics and chemistry. It is the result of more than ten years of collaboration between researchers in didactics and physics and chemistry teachers in secondary schools. The teacher will find complete teaching sequences, extensively commented and illustrated by videos of students in real-life situations.
  The online edition of the Manuscrit "queste del saint graal" foresees a dissemination/extension component with a modern French translation and different levels of transcription.
